What DISC is for

DISC is a workplace shorthand for how you tend to solve problems, talk, and handle pace. The four letters are Dominance, Influence, Steadiness, and Conscientiousness. They are styles, not ranks and not diagnoses.

This test is original and informal. It is not Everything DiSC or any licensed instrument. Answer as you usually are on a work week — not the version of you on a stage or on holiday. Then read the full profile, including how you land on the other three styles.

If you want trait scores with stronger research behind them, take the Big Five test after this. If you want four letters in the MBTI sense, use the 16 Personality Types test.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this official DISC or Everything DiSC? ▼
No. DISC began with William Marston's work; commercial instruments such as Everything DiSC are licensed products. This is an original, informal quiz that uses the four well-known style names. It is for self-reflection, not hiring.
Can I be more than one letter? ▼
Yes. Most people have a lead style and a secondary. Read the bars, not only the title. The second-highest score is often how you behave when the lead style is blocked.
How is DISC different from the 16 types or Big Five? ▼
DISC is a work-behavior shorthand. The 16-type test sorts preferences like energy and structure. The Big Five test scores continuous traits with stronger research behind them. Use DISC for meetings and load; use Big Five when you want degree.
Should managers use this to hire? ▼
No. Short online quizzes are too coarse and too easy to game for selection. Use them to talk about how you already work together.
